A piece of fabric, often sold as a panel, that has a printed design made to look like patchwork or applique. Often used for baby quilts, it is layered with a backing and batting, then quilted to make a quick yet decorative quilt without having to do much actual patchwork. Thus, it is said that the maker “cheated.”
