Refers to a bundle of fabric pieces that have been cut by the manufacturer in standard, convenient sizes. Sizes range from 2.5″ to 10″ squares, 1.5″ to 2.5″ strips, 60 degree triangle pieces and fat quarter bundles. Moda fabrics (aka United Notions) has trademarked their precuts with names such as Charm Pack, Jelly Roll, Turnover and Layer Cake. Due to the convenience factor, you will pay more for precuts, but the trade off is that they can be a time saver.
