Tying
« Back to Glossary Index
Hand tying is a simple, traditional method for securing the layers of a quilt together. Instead of using traditional quilting stitches, the quilter uses a sturdy cord or thread to pierce the layers up through the quilt, then back down through the quilt. The ends of the cord are then tied together in a knot. This is repeated at standard intervals across the quilt.
