As you might suspect, the Cabin in the Cotton Quilt Block is a variation of the Log Cabin Quilt Block

More specifically, it’s a variety of the Courthouse Steps quilt block, and I have seen this block referenced on the internet as “White House Steps.” It is constructed the same way as a courthouse steps block, but it is colored differently.  In the Cabin the Cotton Quilt Block, all four strips in a round are the same color.
