The Rolling Stone Quilt Block is a nine patch construction that uses a central square that is flanked by pairs of rectangles. In the corners of the nine-patch, we have Square-in-a-square (SNS) units. The diamonds that are created in each corner by these units give the block some “movement.” It’s almost as if the block is on wheels that are turning.
