Pinwheel Quilt Block

Pinwheel quilt blocks have long been a staple in patchwork designs. They are often incorporated into other quilt blocks and can be made using half-square triangles or flying geese. (See the Pinwheel Geese Quilt Block and the Clay’s Choice Quilt Block for examples.)

This version is probably one of the most basic of pinwheel designs, using simple light/dark half-square triangles which are rotated around a central point in a 2×2 (4-patch) gride.
