Steps to the Altar Quilt Block

Skill level: Confident Beginner – Intermediate

While it’s a bit hard to pick out because so many pieces are involved, the Steps to the Altar quilt block is a nine-patch block design. (Actually, you could make a strong case that it can be designed as a four patch, too. See if you can pick that out!)

Either way, the trick to making this block is to actually make each side of the diagonal and sew them together on the diagonal.
